What better way to demonstrate the heat generated with friction, then skiing in a parking lot? We use a FLIR thermal imaging camera to show the invisible light generated in this experiment! Don't try this at home!

What about the opposite? Water actually has a much lower friction coefficient - Craig demonstrates that by using an ice block to sled! Watch:
